Paul and Silas

Very deep mold from an 11th Century ivory carving on a portable altar in the Rhine Valley of Germany. Authentic period feel, it depicts the famous pairing (Acts 16 & 17) who preached and were imprisoned together. When they prayed, an earthquake broke the prison doors open, but they stayed.
