Reitersman

Literally, a "rider-man," this mold from the 1500's or 1600's was likely owned by a bakery, and at some point stored face down on a dirt floor allowing termites or carpenter ants to damage the flat surfaces, but the deeply magnificent figure survived intact. There is a drawing of a similar cookie in the little Mennonite book."Festive Cookies of Christmas".
