Elijah & Elisha

A '95 Harvard Magazine ran a picture of this in response to an article detailing children's diminished knowledge of awkward Bible stories: After the prophet Elijah was taken up in a fiery chariot(top), Elisha, with Elijah's mantle over his arm, walked past Bethel where fifty teenagers threatened and taunted him. Elijah cursed them in the name of the Lord; two she-bears came out of the woods and tore apart 42 of them. The original 18th Century mold split and the mending pieces are visible on the rim. Now in a private collection in Zurich, it is very deep and one of my favorites!
