Springerle & Speculaas Cookie Class   9:30 - 11:30 am

This hands on class will cover two traditional German molded cookies from dough to baking. Learn the differences in how these two cookies remolded; Springerle, traditionally anise flavored, are dense dry cake-like cookies while Spculatius are thin crisp almond spice cookies. (Think windmill cookies that are also called Speculaas cookies in Holland. When I was growing up, these were one of the rare cookies that were ever purchased. Believe me, homemade is superior.) We will make two doughs and then participants will roll and form their own cookies to bake at home. Bring a large, preferably rimmed, baking sheet to tote your treats home for baking.

Paper Casting Wreath Class                 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Enjoy crafting with your cookie molds. Learn the art of paper casting and create 100% cotton castings to assemble a charming wreath. Each student will make one casting in class and be given cotton linters to make enough castings to complete their own wreath. There will be a demo to show how to assemble the class fee includes everything you need: one cookie mold, one chipboard base, cottonlinters and ribbon. To inspire you, samples of card made with paper castings will be available for viewing.
